Homemaker

Services that help a person manage general cleaning and household activities.Homemaker cleaning services include home cleaning tasks exclusively, such as:

  • Light housekeeping tasks.
  • Laundry services.

Homemaker cleaning also includes monitoring the person’s well-being while in the home, including home safety.

Night Supervision

Services include an asleep or awake staff in the person’s own home performing an activity listed in the eligibility section.

Respite

Short-term care services provided to a person when their primary caregiver is absent or needs relief. Respite covers: Level of supervision and care that is necessary to ensure the person’s health and safety.

Individualized home supports (IHS)

There are three service options for IHS:

IHS without training:

Provided to adults or children when they need support, assistance, and supervision in at least one of the community living service categories.

IHS with training: 

Provided to adults when they need support and training in at least one of the community living service categories.

IHS with family training

Provided to adults or children living in their family’s home when the person and/or their family needs support and training in at least one of the community living service categories.

Individualized home supports (IHS)

IHS covers community living services in four categories:

  • Community participation.
  • Health, safet, and wellness.
  • Household management.
  • Adaptive skills.

Integrated community supports (ICS)

Integrated community supports (ICS): Services that provide support and training/habilitation in community living service categories to adults age 18 and older who reside in a living unit of a provider-controlled ICS setting (e.g., an apartment in a multi-family housing building). ICS can be delivered up to 24 hours per day in the person’s living unit or in the community.

ICS covers training/habilitation and support to meet the person’s individualized assessed needs and goals in at least one of the community living service categories:

  • Community participation.
  • Health, safety and wellness.
  • Household management.
  • Adaptive skills.

Support in community living service categories: Cueing, skill maintenance, guidance, instruction, assistance with activities of daily living, coordination of community living activities, or direct supervision within an allowable community living service category.

Training in community living service categories: Skill-building and instructional services to acquire, retain, and improve the person’s experience living in the community within an allowable community living service category. Training must meet the person’s identified needs.
Living unit: A self-contained living unit (e.g., apartment) with living, sleeping, eating, cooking, and bathroom areas.
